International Supper Club is happening!

Our mission is to celebrate global culture, food, kitchen confidence and kid-friendly community building.

…and we’re making it happen in intimate gatherings, roughly monthly, in my small Longmont kitchen.

Supper Club: ITALY

JUNE 2022

We just pulled off a small Italian supper club … great fun. Great taste and teamwork, too! Pictures were lame, thanks, mom, but the event was bomber.

See what we have had going on in the kitchen this summer.

Here’s what you need to know:

Our Idea:

Every season or so we will host a kitchen event + supper here at our home from a different world cuisine.

Things may change as our idea evolves, but as it stands we’re asking that each participant be responsible for a single dish.

This means selecting something to cook, shopping for its ingredients, then, once here, prepping, cooking, and sharing it with the rest of us.

Our table seats eight.

Events happen Sunday afternoons and wrap up around 7:30.

It’s invite only due to limited space, so expect a revolving list of participants.

We are open to ideas, cuisines, and timing!

Participants … please help us by:

• letting the group know what dish you will be making so there aren’t duplicates (look out for a Google Sign Up Sheet, or text me at 917-345-0128)

• keeping your dish SIMPLE, or appropriate to your skill level

• bringing enough to feed 6-8 people

• bringing all the ingredients needed for your dish

• letting us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions – we’ll do our best to accommodate

• bringing special bakeware, pots/pans needed to cook your dish in

• bringing your own chef’s knife (or comparable) that you are comfortable using

• bringing any serving ware or serving utensils needed for your dish

• using kitchen common sense, being careful and considerate, and helping us set the table and clean up after we eat

• wearing closed toed shoes (safety)

• wearing a mask (if necessary)

optional: bringing reusable Tupperware for leftovers

—–

Please look out for a sign up sheet via email, and let me know if you have any questions.

We will provide:

  • • adult supervision such as help, “knife skills”
  • • use of oven, stove, microwave
  • • pantry basics (olive oil, salt, pepper, basic spices)
  • • table settings
    • seating for eight, with Covid precautions as needed
    • drinks

Our Story

Joy, good kitchen vibes and empowerment

I appreciate that my daughter’s first solid food was salmon roe, that their dad and I instated a “no thank you bite” policy at the dinner table, and their appreciation for healthy foods and kitchen moxie.

I credit Montessori for empowering them to engage deeply with life and learning, and to handle sharps and breakables with respect and confidence.

Grandparents, God bless ’em, set the stage long ago for cooking to be joyful and tasty. Your patience is appreciated!

We spent a lot of 2020 in the kitchen, and we 100% missed our friends.

So began the inspiration to create fun, purposeful, practical gatherings combining food + friends.

We’re just getting started, and we appreciate your enthusiasm and participation.

Thank you, mahalo, efharisto, tak, xiexie, merci, gracias!
